Individual sessionsAnne L Ryan

Anne L Ryan is fascinated with how the body makes vocal sound and its capacity to express our deepest fears and greatest joys. In her teaching she touches the voice using movement, breath, sound and text. Anne explains that her work involves encouraging the development of the creative voice using body and dance, breath and relaxation, sound and listening, words and text. With a focus on resonance and sound toning, she enjoys shaping a vocal session around the person, allowing their needs to guide the session. Specialism: celtic, spanish, georgian and other world music sounds with a real zest for the interpretation of voice a cappella.

Anne has developed her vocal teaching knowledge through performance, training, and work with a number of voice practitioners, most recently vocal theatre specialist Frances M Lynch. She has also worked with Sarah Paterson at BodySingingSoul, Cambridge (UK), Caitlin Matthews, Celtic sound healer, Oxford and Margaret Pikes (NVPN and Roy Hart Theatre, London). She has studied music at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin, Ireland.
